“I cant tell you how much I appreciate everything you all have done for us. I have led many a field trip in my time, however, today’s fishing trip was one of the best ever.” -Frank Humphrey, Program coordinator, K.I.N.D. Ministries.

Kids in New Directions (KIND) was founded in 1987. KIND provides the East Dayton community’s disadvantaged children, ages 4-17, with a safe place to participate and promote positive interactions through structured activities, field trips, tutoring, nutritious meals, guidance, mentoring and friendship.

Many of these children become trapped in their immediate neighborhood, not realizing the world that awaits them. The KIND program strives to improve literacy skills, instills self-esteem, and stimulates mental and emotional development.

In addition, they offer guidance and counseling for the children of the low-income families and in many cases single parent homes within their communities. An After School Program offers assistance with school homework, art, and computer training. The kids also participate in interactive activities and conclude the day’s activities with a family-style nutritious meal.

The KIND program strives to make sure that each and every child knows that they are cared about and provides a positive Christian influence in their lives.

The Exchange Club of Dayton is honored to be able to partner with Kids in New Directions in their efforts to make the East Dayton communities better places to live.
